Mozilla Firefoz 9 (Beta)

Mozilla Firefox 9 (Beta)                                                       Download

Mozilla Firefox 9 – Mozilla has officially released the latest update to Firefox, bringing its version from Firefox 8 to Firefox 9. Not too sure why the hasty version numbers here, though I think the alpha channel actually even has Firefox 11 to download if you really want to be on top of every thing. Perhaps they are trying to catch up with Chrome?
Interface looks the same and there are no new groundbreaking features from the way I see it.
Firefox 9 changelog:
  • Added Type Inference, significantly improving JavaScript performance
  • Improved theme integration for Mac OS X Lion
  • Added two finger swipe navigation for Mac OS X Lion
  • Added support for querying Do Not Track status via JavaScript
  • Added support for font-stretch
  • Improved support for text-overflow
  • Improved standards support for HTML5, MathML, and CSS
  • Fixed several stability issues
  • Fixed several security issues
But of course, it’s better to update to the latest and greatest, right? (at least, that’s my motto).

Firefox 9 update

It’s too early to see whether the Firefox memory leak is still there – I always seemed to get 800-900 MB memory being used on my Firefox before, which was why I switched to Google Chrome.
